About the event

In February, we will be discussing:

Tomkins, S. "Continuities and Discontinuities in the Impact of Humlitiation: The Intrusion and Iceberg Models", AIC (Vol. 2, Chapter 20: pp. 449-474).

* Zoë Avner, Edward T. Hall & Paul Potrac (2023), "Affect and emotions in sports work: a research agenda", Sport in Society, 26:7, 1161-1177.

Readings include not only the work of Tomkins (specifically, we are reading through the volumes of his

magnus opus Affect, Imagery, Consciousness) but of other researchers related to Affect Script theory.

These are relatively casual Zoom interactions, but participants are expected to have, at minimum, a mid-level knowledge of Tomkins’ basic ideas, particularly affect theory and the innate activator model. Sessions are held the last Monday of each month at 7:30 pm and typically last 90 minutes.
