Margaret Thorsborne, BSc, Dip Ed, Grad Dip Counselling, FAIM
Margaret Thorsborne, Managing Director of Margaret Thorsborne and Associates, is a consultant to public and private sector businesses and organizations for workplace relationships and the management of high level conflict and inappropriate behaviour. Her interventions have achieved successful outcomes in a wide range of challenging and complex cases including workplace bullying, sexual harassment, misconduct, diminished work performance, aggressive management and supervision, dysfunctional teams, and other high level conflict. Margaret began her career as a high school teacher, later qualifying for her role as a school counsellor. Eventually she became an internal consultant and project manager for the Queensland Education Department in the fields of behaviour, trauma and conflict management. She is now recognised as an international expert on school and workplace bullying and restorative behaviour management practices in schools. She has presented papers, seminars and workshops and conducted training across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK and the USA. She is a published author in the area of restorative justice as it applies to schools and workplaces, and in the field of recruitment and selection for workplace literacy and numeracy skills.
